IPSC President’s Newsletter – October

Dear Regional Directors,

I would like to share some news from the recent Executive Council meetings:

  1. Next year IPSC will celebrate its 50th anniversary. A brief discussion regarding the planned activities was conducted. All ideas and proposals are encouraged to be shared.
  2. A discussion regarding whether a Range Master is eligible to participate as an athlete in a Pre-Match was finalized. A proposed Rule interpretation was approved by the meeting: Match Director, Range Master and deputy Range Master are not eligible to compete at the Level IV-V Matches which they officiate. They may compete in Level III Matches, subject to the prior approval of the Regional Director of the Region in which the match is being held. They may compete in Level I and II Matches. It will be published on IPSC web page and come into force 7 days after the publication.
  3. The application submitted by Nigeria was reviewed during the meeting. It was decided to request further information and documentation to proceed.
  4. The nomination of Dr. Jimmy Barbuti (Romania) for the position of Chairman of the IPSC Anti-Doping Agency was approved by the meeting.
  5. A brief update regarding the trademark registration was given to the meeting.

Dear Regional Directors, please pay attention that this information will be published in the official IPSC Facebook page 18 hours after this letter is sent.

You can share this information with your Board members, but please don’t publish it before the official announcement in IPSC Facebook page.
